Conductores vivieron horas de tensión tras un incendio ocurrido durante el domingo por la tarde, la Ruta 7, a la altura de Punta de Vacas.
Un camión cisterna cargado con aceite vegetal se incendió la tarde del domingo 14 de abril en Punta de Vacas, provocando la interrupción del tráfico en la Ruta 7 mientras los bomberos trabajaban para extinguir las llamas. Afortunadamente, el conductor no resultó herido en el incidente.
El suceso tuvo lugar alrededor de las 17 horas, en el kilómetro 1202 de la mencionada ruta. Según fuentes policiales, el fuego aparentemente se originó debido a una falla mecánica en el motor del vehículo, propagándose rápidamente por la carrocería del camión.
El conductor, al notar el inicio del incendio, abandonó la cabina a tiempo y logró ponerse a salvo sin sufrir ninguna lesión.
Inmediatamente después, las autoridades de la Gendarmería Nacional, la Policía de Mendoza y los Bomberos se dirigieron al lugar para coordinar las labores de extinción del fuego y el restablecimiento del tráfico en la zona.

Una vez que los bomberos controlaron las llamas, se restableció la circulación en la Ruta 7, y se iniciaron las investigaciones para determinar las causas exactas del incidente.
