Desde el 17 de octubre se comenzó a prestar el Servicio de Tratamientos Aéreos para combatir la polilla de la vid entre las producciones vitícolas de los oasis Norte y Este. A fin de mes se realizarán las aplicaciones en Luján de Cuyo.
La estrategia para la presente campaña sobre la polilla de la vid prioriza los tratamientos sobre fincas en estado de abandono, con riesgo fitosanitario y como complemento a las acciones de control que realicen los productores en los departamentos de Lavalle, Luján, Maipú, Junín, Rivadavia, San Martín, Santa Rosa y La Paz para el control de la primera generación de la plaga.
La dinámica técnica y las condiciones climáticas de la semana han sido favorables para el desarrollo del servicio, permitiendo acciones de control en 20.000 hectáreas en los oasis Norte y Este, es decir que se a avanzado sobre el 25% de las acciones.
Baja carga toxicológica
Es importante destacar que los fitosanitarios que se emplean para la polilla de la vid son de la más baja categoría toxicológica existente (banda verde o categoría IV).
Es decir, presentan elevadísima selectividad de acción para afectar únicamente a la plaga que se busca controlar, no ocasionando efectos sobre abejas, insectos benéficos, animales de sangre caliente o personas en las condiciones de uso y dosis que el programa los utiliza.
Resguardo perimetral
Asimismo, no se realizan aplicaciones en zonas urbanas, periurbanas, escuelas, centros de salud, hospitales, etc.
Ello, en razón de que las aeronaves que se emplean para esta labor requieren de ciertas condiciones para poder efectuar las tareas sobre áreas donde no se presenten determinados obstáculos como antenas, cableados o edificios. Se contemplarán zonas de contención o amortiguamiento de 500 metros hasta lugares de aplicación, medida que supera ampliamente los estándares internacionales en la materia.
Todas las acciones cuentan con la Declaración de Impacto Ambiental de la Secretaría de Ambiente y Ordenamiento Territorial de Mendoza.
El cronograma de actividades programado está sujeto a modificaciones por razones climáticas u operativas. En Luján de Cuyo se realizarán aplicaciones entre el 29 y 31 de octubre en El Carrizal, Ugarteche y Anchoris.

Ampliación de las áreas de cobertura
Además se ampliará el área a tratar con feromonas pulverizables que permitirían generar un impacto contundente sobre las poblaciones del insecto como complemento de la aplicación de insecticidas de elevada especificidad.
Estos recursos permitirán repasar zonas productivas donde se presentan focos de mayor incidencia del insecto en el oasis Norte-Este y se buscará asistir con insecticidas para la aplicación terrestre a los productores del Valle de Uco.
La acción se realiza tras la llegada de fondos nacionales el 12 de octubre.
