La iniciativa que unió a tres escuelas secundarias de la ciudad santafesina de Firmat, concluyó con una jornada en la plaza junto a los vecinos y vecinas para poner el alto las acciones de paz.

Los alumnos de las tres escuelas medias de Firmat, a 110 kilómetros de Rosario, reflexionaron sobre la Segunda Guerra Mundial y el ataque con bombas atómicas a las dos ciudades japonesas en agosto de 1945. 1.400 alumnos de las tres escuelas secundarias de la ciudad de Firmat se unieron y reflexionaron sobre la paz y mostraron a todos los ciudadanos que pueden lograr resultados en conjunto.
“La idea surgió en mi taller de origami cuando le conté a Claudia, que es mi alumna, la importancia que tiene la grulla plegada como símbolo de la paz, y la historia de Sadako Sasaki, una nena que fue afectada por los efectos de la bomba y sufrió leucemia por efectos de la radiación y dedicó sus últimos días de vida a hacer grullas”, cuenta Candia y recuerda que se les ocurrió proponerles la actividad a los alumnos de todos los años de las escuelas del pueblo: la Técnica N° 281, la Secundaria N° 421 y el Instituto Superior Virgen de La Merced N°9088, pero no con fines solamente artísticos, sino para invitarlos a reflexionar sobre la paz.
La ocasión fue oportuna para hablar sobre los temas locales que afectan a los jóvenes, como la discriminación y la necesitad de tolerancia y respeto.

Todos los docentes aportaron contenidos: en Biología , las consecuencias de la explosión, en Química y Física como actúa la bomba, en Ética la necesidad de buscar la paz. También hubo jornadas de plegado masivo en las que además de conversar los estudiantes realizaron los pájaros de origami. Una alumna de Candia que atesoraba 2.000 grullas que había realizado para cumplir un deseo personal, prefirió donarlas a los chicos y sumarse a la iniciativa por la paz.
Cada escuela debatió dentro de las aulas y luego en sesiones virtuales compartió sus conclusiones con los estudiantes de las otras dos.
Finalmente, la semana pasada, los delegados de cada colegio dedicaron una mañana a colgar las grullas en la Plaza Rivadavia, en el centro de la ciudad y dialogaron con los vecinos para promover la tolerancia.

El proyecto también fue relatado en el programa radial «Japón Hoy» que se ocupa de la cultura japonesa en la Argentina. Los alumnos manifestaron continuar con proyectos realizados en conjunto y orientados a la convivencia y el respeto. Las grullas se mantuvieron en la plaza.
El final del proyecto fue el sábado 6 de agosto cuando se realizó una jornada por la paz a la que se sumaron las autoridades locales y toda la comunidad: terminó con la plantación de un Ginko Biloba, que no fue cualquier árbol, sino la especie que sobrevivió a la bomba atómica.
