La Municipalidad se encuentra desarrollando el operativo en diferentes distritos del departamento. El objetivo es recuperar y mejorar las zonas destinadas al uso peatonal, garantizando así un espacio más amigable y respetuoso para el vecino.
Las tareas ejecutadas por la Dirección de Obras Privadas, en conjunto con las Secretarias de Servicios Públicos y Obras e Infraestructura, se iniciaron en los distritos de Chacras de Coria, La Puntilla, Vistalba y Potrerillos. La intención es continuar extendiendo el programa por las distintas zonas del departamento que lo demanden.
Este plan tiene como finalidad recuperar y reacondicionar los espacios destinados al uso peatonal, garantizando de esta manera la seguridad y el respeto al transeúnte. La iniciativa se encuentra acompañada de la red de ciclovías, que apunta a la adaptación de la comunidad al libre tránsito de vehículos en esas zonas.
Las zonas intervenidas en la primera etapa fueron: Chacras de Coria (1080 metros lineales), La Puntilla (30 metros lineales), Vistalba (240 metros lineales) y Potrerillos (35 metros lineales).
También, se sumó a los trabajos la liberación del espacio comprendido sobre calle Besares y la ex fabrica Electra, permitiendo, por su proximidad a la Escuela Enrique Mosconi, la seguridad y posibilidad de transitar por la vereda a los alumnos que asisten a este colegio.
Las tareas consistieron en la ejecución de nuevos cierres ubicados en las líneas y retiros que corresponden a cada zona, y la liberación de obstáculos ubicados en estas áreas destinadas al uso peatonal.
